In August 11, worldly renowned biologists Prof. Peter H. Quail and Prof. Katayoon Dehesh visited School of Advanced Agricultural Sciences (in preparation), Peking University upon invitation. Prof. Deng Xingwang, leader of preparation work group, warmly received the two visitors and took them to visit the School and the laboratories. The two professors respectively gave lectures as part of Advanced Agriculture Lecture Series.

The lectures, “Dynamics of the Phytochrome-PIF-Genome Signaling Interface” by Prof.Peter H. Quail and “Deciphering the link between a plastidial retrograde signal and transcriptional reprogramming of endoplasmic reticulum” by Prof. Katayoon Dehesh attracted not only students of Peking University but also those from other universities. A dynamic and enthusiastic atmosphere was felt during the two lectures in the morning, with many questions and points for discussion raised by students and faculty after the lectures. Prof. Deng Xingwang presented Memorial Medals for Advanced Agriculture Lecture Series, School of Advanced Agricultural Sciences (in preparation), Peking University to the two professors. Prof. Peter H. Quail and Prof. Katayoon Dehesh expressed their thanks for the invitation as well as encouragement for the students of Peking University, wishing them a well-accomplished life.
